Chris has lived most of his life in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. At the moment he also spends a lot of time in Matsuyama, Japan where he is doing a programme of artistic research at the Faculty of Collaborative Regional Innovation, Ehime University as an associate professor attached to the Japanese Government’s weather control project, Moonshot Goal 8.

Chris explores environments for creative activity, resident-led modification of the lived environment, and alternative education(s). He runs public projects which experiment with public/private space, Making Friends, trust and hope, and making-do with resources at hand.

He made the Distributed Resource Centre (below) which was 11 projects over five years in and around the Mairangi Bay Arts Centre (book designed by Xin Cheng).
