I decided to create a waist drum after being inspired by my classmates’ projects at school, which taught me a lot. I planned to use cardboard for the drum. First, I divided the waist drum into eight sides, measuring the length of each side to be approximately 8.16 cm. I then marked these measurements with a pencil to aid in the subsequent steps. I initially miscalculated, which led to minor difficulties, but eventually resolved the issue. Next, I set out to make a drumhead using white paper. After calculating the dimensions, I cut it out and installed it. However, upon testing it, I realized it didn’t meet my expectations. The drumhead’s movement was too limited, and it seemed prone to damage. Consequently, I decided to use the white paper as the drum’s base and created a new drumhead from cardboard. The results were much better this time. To enhance its appearance, I added a Maori pattern to the drumhead. Ultimately, I was pleased with the final product.
